Things to Do
Apart from endless walks, climbs, cycling, swimming, fishing and all that nature has to offer on our doorstep there are also many attractions locally, a selection of which is below:
- Gosforth Pottery - a working pottery in the Western Lake District offering pottery courses and souvenir shop.
- Muncaster Castle - historic haunted castle, gardens and woodland walks and World Owl Centre for fun family days out.
- The L'aal Ratty - English Lake District’s oldest, longest and undoubtedly most scenic steam railway.
Guided Walks
For those who would like to get out with an expert our good friend and neighbor Penny Kirby can offer guided walks, mountain or low level, single pitch climbing and abseiling, scrambling and ghyll scrambling.
Penny has 27 years experience with the Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team and 25 years as a mountain rescue dog handler. Penny also has to her credit a mountain leader award ( summer ) and single pitch award.
Rates :
- Full day £120 up to 4 people and £30 for each additional person
- Half day £70 up to 4 people and £15 for each additional person
Children under 16 years are welcome with parents or responsible accompanying adults ( to comply with legislation )
